• 2007 Anniversary Cabernet Cole Ranch -- 2007 Esterlina Vineyards/Everett Ridge Cabernet, Cole Ranch, Anniversary The 2007 Cole Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon is a deeply colored and finely composed expression of the vineyard at its best. The aromas of black current and olive are complemented by anise, sweet tobacco, coffee, allspice, and toasty oak.  Balanced and elegant, it possesses a firm structure, beginning as tightly wound around a solid core and then unfolding on the palate into a fine-grained and smooth finish.  Age for three to five years to evolve.  Pair this Cabernet Sauvignon with spring lamb chops with chopped parsley and mint.

• 2009 ANNIVERSARY ZINFANDEL -- 2009 Everett Ridge/Esterlina Anniversary Zinfandel Dry Creek Valley This Dry Creek Zinfandel, flourishing its characteristic splendid spiciness, was created in celebration of the joint Esterlina and Everett Ridge anniversaries.  Its aroma is a profusion of black pepper, cloves and cinnamon. Jammy blackberry fruit powers its concentrated flavor.  The 2009 Esterlina and Everett Ridge Anniversary Zinfandel Dry Creek Valley is enjoyable now and through the next three years.  Pair this intensely flavored Zinfandel with grilled butterflied leg of lamb.

• 2010 ANNIVERSARY VIOGNIER -- 2010 Esterlina Vineyards/Everett Ridge Viognier, McDowell Valley, Anniversary This pure expression of Viognier - the most floral of white wines-is exotically perfumed with honeysuckle and plumeria flower. In the mouth, its tropical fruit flavors of mango, guava and lychee are released, followed by a vibrant and flinty acidity.  Such an extroverted wine, this Viognier can take on bold flavors and would complement dishes such as grilled sea bass with mango salsa, Indian green curry chicken or Thai coconut shrimp.  Drink within two years, as it is ripe for enjoying now and requires little aging to develop its full aromatic complexity.

Its texture is so round, supple and plush that it conveys the impression of velvet in the mouth. Evident ripeness gives the perception of sweetness and persistence to the generous red currant and black cherry fruit flavors.  This wine is immediately approachable and already delicious, though it is best to age it for another year or two to appreciate its full potential.  Highlight the seamless texture of this wine by enjoying with soft teleme cheese or serving with ground veal and mushroom ragu over pappardelle.

Black cherry and cocoa flood the aroma, giving way to cassis, ripe olive, dried herbs and cedar by mouth.   If you can cellar the wine for another six to eight years, your patience will be rewarded.   Enjoy with Porterhouse steak slathered with tarragon butter.  

• ER 08 Petite Sirah -- Petite Sirah 2008 Dry Creek Valley Estate - Everett Ridge Wines There is nothing "petite" about the Everett Ridge Petite Sirah; rather, it is all about masculine power and brawny structure.  This dark and brooding Petite Sirah is so deeply colored that it is nearly opaque, like ink.  Aromas of leather, cigar box, sweet tobacco and charred oak suspend over a dense backdrop of blackberry fruit. Layered and chewy tannins make a big textural statement in the mouth. The intensity of fruit is supported by mouthwatering acidity for a bright finish. Though bold, this wine is not a rough or coarse: it makes its grand exit with a well-mannered display of subtle tannins.  Try decanting Petite Sirah, especially while it is in its youth, to enjoy its full aromatic complexity. Will mellow over time and can age up to 10 years.  Pair this robust and muscly wine with equally big foods: grilled steak, lamb sausages, blackberry-glazed baby back ribs (or the spit-roasted wild boar from your last hunt!).
